Ken is active in local developer community, regularly speaking at CINNUG and the Dayton .NET Developers Group. In 2015 he led a hackathon for CINNUG and conducted an MVC workshop at the same event. He has also participated in the Southwest Ohio Give Camp, leading teams of developers to create applications and web sites for local non-profit organizations.
Ken and his daughter, Elise, raise money for Team Challenge, an endurance training organization and the major fundraising arm of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). Together they have completed five half marathons and raised over $30,000 to find a cure for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and improve the quality of life of over 1.6 million Americans suffering from these debilitating diseases.
Ken and his wife, Margie, raised four wonderful children and now enjoy their nine grandchildren. They love attending the Dayton Philharmonic, going to Dragons games, and going to the theater. Ken is active in his church, teaching the college age Sunday school class and participating in drama productions. He is an avid reader and loves to write essays, memoir and poetry.
